Located just a short drive away from downtown Wisconsin Dells on 13th Ave., Fawn Creek Winery is known for its array of palate-pleasing wines. In particular, their fruit-flavored wines, such as the Razz-Prairie Pinot Noir, the Kilbourn Red, and Black Bear-y, are renowned. The winery offers complimentary wine tastings between the hours of 11:00am and 5:00pm daily, with the exception of closing for New Year’s Day, Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Prairie Hawk Winery is one of the best wineries near Wisconsin Dells. Open seasonally, this winery specializes in small batches of handcrafted wine, with a selection of white, red, rose, and fruit wines, as well as cider and mead, or traditional wine made from honey. The winery is located in a setting that is simultaneously close to town yet remote enough to see wildlife nearby.
Wollersheim Winery is located about half an hour away from Wisconsin Dells, nestled near Devils Lake State Park and Lake Wisconsin. With a long history of winemaking that dates back to the mid-1800s, this winery produced high-quality wines up until the Prohibition. Since the 1970s, the Wollersheim family has taken over the vineyards and restored the tradition, producing reds, whites, blush wines, seasonal wines, ports, and ice wine; they have even won some awards!
Famous for its fantastic wine and breathtaking views, Baraboo Bluff Winery is situated about 20 minutes outside of Wisconsin Dells in the nearby town of Baraboo. The winery offers outdoor hillside seating, as well as a tasting room with windows for looking out onto the bluffs. Baraboo Bluff Winery is also a great choice for tastings due to their diverse tasting options and willingness to accommodate groups of 12 or more people. Hours vary seasonally, with off-season hours from 11:00am to 5:00pm Thursday through Monday and summer season hours daily from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
