Tour H.H. Bennett’s Studio
H.H. Bennett is known as “the man who made Wisconsin Dells famous.” He was an inventor, landscape photographer and promoter of the town until he died in 1908. He was famous for his photographs of the Dells of the Wisconsin River. Inside his 1875, 6,000-foot studio, you can visit his desk, watch how he developed photographs, get a photo taken, and use a historic camera. You can buy prints of his photographs here as well.
Wood Art by a World Champion
At Watson’s Woods, you’ll be in awe as you gaze at Dave Watson’s showroom of masterpieces. Watson, a Grand National Champion Carver, makes log furniture, pottery, copper work, Native American artwork, fretwork, and an array of chainsaw carvings and sculptures at these art fairs in Wisconsin.
Learn About the Local Native American Culture
Founded in 2013, the Little Eagle Arts Foundation is dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Native American art in Wisconsin Dells. The foundation puts on artist showings, provides educational programming and community events, and runs a gift shop and art gallery featuring only products and works from Native American-owned companies and artists.
Listen to Music at the Crystal Grand Music Theater
The theater hosts musicians and comedians of all kinds. This 2,000-seat theater will give you the feeling of being in a bigger city, but minutes away from Wisconsin Dells. The theater’s image magnification system keeps you close to the action. The theater has a full bar and concession.
Watch a Broadway Show
If you’re looking for a taste of the Big Apple, the Palace Theater fits your bill. At the Palace, you’ll find Broadway musicals, plays and tribute bands. There is always a huge selection of family-friendly events. You can buy an annual subscription to the theater’s series of family shows. There is a snack served at each to keep your hungry child satisfied. The theater’s dinner and a show packages are a great steal.
Visit a Fun-Filled Wisconsin Dells Festival
Every September, Wisconsin Dells puts on Wo-Zha-Wa Days, days of family-friendly fun including an arts and crafts fair, antique flea market, live entertainment, a run, and a 100-unit parade. There are plenty of food vendors, so you can make this an all-day event without getting ravenous.
