You haven’t imagined it. The sun is setting earlier, rising later, and although it is still hot outside, you can almost feel the first cool moments lingering on the edge of the season. Summer has nearly reached its natural conclusion and it is time to start going through your closets and pulling out all your long-sleeved shirts and lightweight jackets in preparation for fall. But for you to do that, it is also time to make your plans for the last hurrah of the season, that lasts the 3-day weekend when you convince yourself that summer will last forever! Labor Day weekend falls on the first weekend of September this year and the best way to celebrate, in our humble opinions, is with a visit to the Wisconsin Dells and a stay in our Spring Brook holiday hideaways! This Wisconsin Dells Labor Day weekend events guide to spending Labor Day in the fun center of Wisconsin may become your guide to your newest Labor Day tradition!

At Least Once

Labor Day weekend is a weekend dedicated to no labor and as a hard-working American, you are probably looking forward to sleeping in late, hanging out by the pool, and soaking in the last vestiges of the summer sun. You should, however, also be looking forward to waking early at least once during your stay and watching the sun rise over our landscape, banishing the dark and bringing light to the verdant countryside! Mother Nature doesn’t care if you come as you are, wearing warm jammies with a very bad case of bedhead, and she doesn’t care if you roll back into bed after the show has reached its climax but you will care if you miss out on the beauty, peace, and tranquility of a Wisconsin Dells sunrise. For those early risers that find their tummies grumbling with hungry, comb your hair, throw on your shorts and tees, and head to one of our newer breakfast restaurants, Mr. Pancake Restaurant, and enjoy an all-American morning meal that will sweeten this already perfect day! Located at 1405 Wisconsin Dells Parkway and opening at 7 AM every day of the week, the pancakes, waffles, and blintzes served here will instantly transport you back to your grandma’s kitchen!

Take a Hike

The serene beauty of Wisconsin Dells is best enjoyed with a hike along many of the trails that traverse our landscape, including the Chapel Gorge Trail. A relatively short trail lasting just under 2 miles, the Chapel Gorge Trail leads you through the woods and along the Wisconsin River. The temperatures here tend to run in the high 70s during this time of the year, ensuring that it will be the perfect weather for an early September hike and no one will get too hot or too cold, so dress light and don’t forget to wear your most comfortable hiking shoes!

Waterpark Adventures

You may remember that we referred to Wisconsin Dells as the fun center of the state in an earlier paragraph and this is partially due to the waterparks that make their home in our state! Also known as the Waterpark Capital of the World, our little corner of the nation boasts 7 different waterparks to enjoy during your stay. Starting with Noah’s Ark Waterpark, 1410 Wisconsin Dells Parkway is the largest one in the United States, offering 70 acres of the watery fun that includes a whopping 51 waterslides! Labor Day weekend is the closing weekend for the season, so it will probably be filled with residents and out-of-state visitors enjoying the waning moments of summer! Mount Olympus Water and Theme Parks, 1881 Wisconsin Dells Parkway D, carries the fun to the next level, offering an outdoor AND indoor waterpark for your end-of-summer adventures, but the indoor portion won’t open for business until mid-September. The outdoor park, however, will be open and ready to provide watery thrills you wish never had to end! Can you even think of a more fun way to spend the last weekend of summer? We don’t think so!

Stay and Play

The best part of your Labor Day getaway, however, will be the moments you spend in our comfortable and luxurious Spring Brook Hideaways. Playing with the kids in large and spacious game rooms, barbecuing on decks that look out over the stunning Wisconsin Dells landscape, even hanging out at the community pool swimming, relaxing, and watching your children show you how long they can hold their breath underwater. Holidays aren’t just a much-appreciated day off from work, they are meant to be spent with family and our uniquely comfortable properties are designed to bring you and your loved ones closer together, ensuring that this Labor Day weekend is spent in Wisconsin Dells will be one you never forget!
