Summer Fun in the Waterpark Capital of the World
If you didn’t already know, Wisconsin Dells is fondly referred to as the “Waterpark Capital of the World”, due to our numerous waterparks, including indoor waterparks when it’s unseasonably chilly outside. When you visit in the summer, you get to take advantage of the outdoor spaces, some of which feature towering slides, lazy rivers, and thrilling tube rides. One of the most well-known parks in town is Mt. Olympus, which also features a regular theme park with rollercoasters and other rides such as go-kart racing, and rides that are age-appropriate thrill-wise for your little ones. Other popular waterparks in town include Kalahari Resort, and Wilderness Resort Waterpark, which also features mega-arcades, zip-lining, and mini-golf. You can even try your hand at laser tag!
Explore Stunning Wisconsin State Parks
Wisconsin Dells enjoys a terrific location near several gorgeous state parks. First up is the Rocky Arbor State Park, which you’ll find right in town. Wake up early to get in a little self-care time on a morning walk, admiring the tranquil scenery, or take the whole family for an afternoon picnic. If you drive a bit further south, you’ll come across Mirror Lake State Park, which offers seasonal kayak and canoe rentals, along with a swimming beach that’s perfect for summer. You can also fish and picnic, and in the summertime, there will be concessions stand near the kayak rentals. The final closest park is Devil’s Lake State Park, which offers similar amenities in terms of picnicking, canoe rentals, and kayak rentals, but also features elevated trails that will give you fantastic views of towering quartzite cliffs.
Visit Local Arcades and Museums
Downtown Wisconsin Dells is known for our entertainment and family-fun, from an adult night out at the Palace Theater to The Wild Fun Zone, offering classic arcade games such as ski-ball and pinball. If you fancy trying out an escape room with your friends and family, Dells Escape Rooms can be found downtown right on Broadway, while those who like to get their imagination going can stop by Wizard Quest, a fantasy-themed maze with riddles. Downtown you’ll also find Asgard Axe Throwing, Ripley’s Believe it Or Not, and an arcade bar with a food and drink menu, Asgard Underworld Arcade Bar.
Tee-Off in Wisconsin Dells
Summer brings golf season to Wisconsin Dells, and those avid golfers in your group will find plenty of world-class courses to play on. Near town you’ll find spots such as the Wild Rock Golf Club, the Trappers Turn Golf Club, and the Cold Water Canyon Golf Course. Trappers Turn offers three championship 9-hole courses, along with a 12-hole short course that’s perfect to teach the kids on. Another can’t miss spot is the Christmas Mountain Village Golf Course, which has been rated as one of Golf Digest’s best places to play and is only a short drive out of town.
